Dynasty Warriors & Magic 3.1
 

I got a V4 PS2 with a Magic 3.1 chip installed...I recently got Dynasty Warriors 4...and sometimes it will boot up and then not load when i click start to start my mission or it will boot into a black screen...and sometimes it may work....has anyone else had problems with this game with this chip and what can i do to fix this problem...oh yeah i've already cleaned the laser already with a cleaning cd

Does this occur with your backup/original or both?
I got a v7 with a magic 3.1 and both original and backup of dynasty warriors 4 work fine.
Try using different media.

I got it as a backup....i just happens here and there

it's been done on a Princo DVD-R....are they any good?

plus i heard that the v4 lasers are not that good...is that true?

v4 lasers are ok v1,2 and 3 are the ones that suck.
Princo DVD-R is very low quality media, some ps2s do have problems booting this type of media.
Try using a different brand like ritek or any good quality media.
