Thank God For Backups
i have drummed the message DO NOT TOUCH MY XBOX'S WHEN I'M NOT IN THE ROOM to my brothers dozens of times but lo and behold when i was transfering software between my dads new phones ( nokia 9210i and 7650) on of them decided to see what go online would do in one my my games.
and quess what yep he screwed my xbox up. it would not boot from evox would not boot games original or backup, i tried to boot it with evox from dvd-r i tried all versions non worked constantley got the dirty disc error. as a last resort i tried my first evox boot disc version 1.8.458 on cd-rw and to my supprise it actually worked. i ftp'd to the c drive and checked it against a backup i had of the original untouched hdd. every thing was different so i made a backup of the screwed up hdd ( just to be safe). then proceded to delete the entire contents of the C drive just hoping flash fxp didnt crash half way through. when this was done ( heart pounding ten to the dozen) i transfered the original C drive backup i made and rebooted the xbox crossing fingers toes any and every thing i could and it worked every thing is good as new. the moral of this story ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL XBOX C DRIVE IT CAN AND WILL SAVE YOU A SERIOUS AMOUNT OF HASSLE SHOULD THE WORST HAPPEN. p.s this xbox is now banned from "live" for ever. good job i have a spare. |
yah, same damn thing happened to me a couple months ago. I was unfortunate to not make a backup, but thanks god that my father just happened to have another xbox, which he was modding for a friend.

true this is the third time i'v had to rewrite the xbox c drive and my backup was the first thing i did when i first connected to it with flash fxp way back last year. it has been invaluable to me. most people won't ever need to use a backup of their hdd.
but it's just to important not to take the 50 or so seconds it takes to back it up. |
yea
in case i ever mess up something which i dont think i will i have the backup of c drive as well as my original hdd |
