Cd-r / Cd-rw

I was wondering if CD-R or CD-RW media can be used for games? I've heard that certain Xbox's will read CD-RW but none of them will read CD-R. Is this true? I would like to be able to backup smaller games such as Capcom vs. SNK and State of Emergency on CD-RW if possible. Both games are under 700MB. Thanks in advance.

Most XBoxes will read CD-RWs, and I'm told the new ones will read CD-Rs.

i would sudgest you try a programme called isocraxtion v1.2
with this you can create multi game dvd discs i have created over 40 of these discs with approx 70 games on these.

hmm i dont believe state of emergency is an xbox game....but i guess i could be wrong?
uhhh
yea
cd-rs are more or less a possibility chance, while cdr-ws usually all work

Actually, Xbox got the year-old, hand me down, craptacular State of Emergency from PS2.

personally i've never gotten a cd-rw/cd-r to work on my xbox. using the data burn or iso method.

don't know if you have a dvd burner or not but that's the way to go. data burn method for single games and iso crexton for multigames.

if your sites are set on using a cd-r i suggest changing you dvd drive in your xbox. a buddy of mine changes his and he has had no probs with any backed-up cd-r's

hmm xbox has state of emergency eh?
i gotta get that
uhh yea
cd-rs are really only useful if u wanna change the dvd-rom
so its either cd-rws
or u goto the dvds

Uh I wouldn't waste too much time lookin for SOE. Its only good for a few minutes of entertainment anyway.

AXmichigan 20-04-2003 20:36

true
but sometimes u just wanna wack things

JiveTurkey 20-04-2003 21:44

:D Whack it if you gotta I guess!

Its cool the amount of people running around, but its a pretty simple game otherwise and IMO there are a lot better ones to waste my time on.

Ive played it a few times and its pretty kewl. I dont have the PS2 version do I dont have anything to compare it too but its not that bad and it fits on a CD-RW, which I got to work. Thanks again.

Could you tell me how you got the CD-RW to work on your Xbox? I have been pulling my hair out trying to get CD-R and CD-RW media work on my xbox just for music and I have had no luck.

Thanks,

I wish....but no. I keep getting the same old message of un-recognizable format. It is really fusterating. I was using a Yamaha CD-RW disc - if that info helps any. I have alot of house remixes I downloaded that I want to transfer to my Xbox and I can't because of this un-recognizable media problem. Anyone have any suggestions?
