Isn't it about time we had a sticky with a few F.A.Q's.

This forum rules but it does seem that 50% of the questions r the sam old questions about 'wot brand dvd-r' and 'wot the best chip' etc.

It seems that people ain't prepared to search the forum b4 asking questions so maybe a few straight forward pointers from the start?

Although there would still be people asking the "same ol" questions.....

Put in some suggestions and we can try to compose a list of the MOST FAQ's.......

Firstly, several reasons why dvd-r back-ups won't load.

This could include a lot from copy progs to laser issues on different versions of ps2 to dvd-r media.


Next, best mod chip, although this has been covered by charlie_ps2 in testing, perhaps a watered down version that clearly states what to go for and what to avoid ( shame we can't include links to reliable and affordable suppliers!).

I'm sure others can come up with more questions.

Yeah. The info is there but people ain't reading it. Perhaps a simpler watered down user friendly version that people might be more willing to read rather than just dive in with a question that gets answered every other day.

As u say, the information is there but people still ask the same questions every day.

The true trick would be getting people to read the stickies in the first place. How many times have you seen people jump in and ask " I just downloaded a game from such and such a site and I can't get it to work, any suggestions?" That topic is already described about as simply as possible and yet some people just don't get it.

They're not reading it because they can't be bothered. They prefer to be spoon-fed as if they were the only ones who mattered in this world and we should be dedicating our precious time to them.

By "they" and "them" I mean, of course, those who can't be bothered to search first.

I haven't seen many posts (nor indeed any) saying that they've read the FACTOIDS but need a simpler explanation.

Anyway, you're welcome to "water down" my stuff from the full skinny to the bare essentials if you think that will make the difference.

also, if they would just use the search button first, then most of there questions have been asked and answered many times

I still think there should be a quiz. You must read over the rules then answer a quiz and get 100% on it to be able to post.

That is being asked way too much lately!
