can someone please help
 

i have a 4416s cdrw and it was working fine, but now when i burn a cd it says that it has done it ok, but it has not burn the cd the cd is blank. i have now wiped my hd and installed all again and it is still the same. can anyone help

Are you using XP by any chance ?
I've noticed this since installing XP. Fortunately have another CD ROM which can read the "blank" disc OK so hasnt been a big problem (yet). I've updated the firmware to no avail - so if anyone has any other ideas ??

no i am not running xp the only thing i have done is upgrade my computer to AMD xp1600 cpu and new mb gigabyte GA-7DXR
512 DDR ram
but it was working ok for a few days so i do not think it is that

this must be a really s***y hardware problem!i think you should send an e-mail to the technical support for your burner!they will surely give you some advice.don't hope for getting any big help from the forum cause what happened to you is a rare problem.well i hope that the support will give the solution to your problem!
