Messiah modded US PS2 ... problems
This is a tricky one to explain...here goes:
I moved to Japan from the UK; I bought a pre-modded Messiah US PS2 to play my Euro PAL games on - from modchipworld.com. However, they won't play - I get the old flickering B&W screen. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my having a Japanese NTSC TV (is it different than the US NTSC?) The company I bought it from suggested I make copies and apply the PAL/NTSC selector patch ?? But I've never backed up a PS" game, let alone patched one - where should I start if indeed that's what I need to do? Any thoughts are welcome; I'm desperate; I'm PS2less. :( |

almost there...
Many thanks. I think I'm getting there. I used CloneCD to make a copy (selecting PSX LibCrypt thing), the attempted to apply the patch (Quake3.ppf) and PPF-O-MATIC said 'image file the wrong size - do u want to continue anyway?' So I did, and still the rolling B&W screen! Am I doing something wrong?

Tried everything!
I've now tried everything and have now got through 8 CD-R and still I get a rolling B&W image!
I think the problem is that all the patches are for US NTSC and I'm guessing I need Jap NTSC because I live in Japan and have a Japanese NTSC TV. However, for the CD games I want to backup (Quake 3 Revolution, Starwars Starfighter - both UK PAL) I can't find any Jap NTSC patches. I'm getting desperate now - short of just going out to buy a PAL TV in Japan, is there anything I can do. I thought my pre-moded Messiah 2 US PS2 would play the PAL games automatically - that's why I bougt it. I've read most of the posts in this forum and and there are lots of posts re PAL-NTSC, but what about PAL-Jap NTSC - or am I missing something? |
U know in europe we use 50hz but in america and japan they use 60hz
If ur ps2 is 50hz and run in 60hz does that make a problem??? |
But the pre-modded PS2 I bought is from the US, so 60hz.
Really frustrating. Thanks for your post. Anyone else have any ideas? I'm about to start crying. |
