Help Required for Praetorians
Hi,
Just joined this forum and would appreciate some help. Have made a backup of Praetorians (Pyro Studios, UK release) using BlindWrite 4.3 with disc physical description method (SecuRom 4.8 I think). (Curve produced was 'perfect' - i.e. 4 protection spots and no spikes or drop-outs - thanks to the Toshiba) Now found that it doesn't always play okay. Usually loads up fine on first play, but if exit a mission and then try to begin a new one often get message to "insert original cd". The detection therefore appears inconsistant. Have looked for crack files but couldn't find any. Any other suggestions to backup this disc so that it always works? (or to 'fix' this backup?). (WinXP Sp1, ASUS 52x Burner, Toshiba 1612 DVD to play) |
To use your disk to play you could get alcohol120% and use its securom emulation.
You could also try to back it up again (from original!) with alcohol. |
Thanks MontyBurns.
To clarify, do you mean: i) just using the tickbox in the emulation section (with current BW copy)? ii) copying again using Alcohol and it's RPMS function? Had chosen to use BlindWrite since others have stated it can copy Securom 4.8 stuff and it's worked fine with other titles. |
Both! :D
Your copy will work with emu ticked on, or you may try backing it up with alc. |
Thanks, will give it another try!
