pro evolution 2 messiah 2 problems
 

juts bought ps2 v7 fitted with messiah 2 seems great but only problem i found is that i will not play pro evolution 2 original or backup it boots up to the memery card options and language selection then just freezes up on the white screen , have tried the original in mates un modded ps2 works fine
any suggestions

Try holding reset for about 5 seconds when booting. This disables the Messiah 2.

what about the backup any one know how to get that working

Hmm... I wasn't aware of ANY games the messiah2 wouldn't boot.

my pro evolution 2 plays fine in my messiah 2 , might be a bad copy or media ?

my original wont load either and the backup freezes the same place as original so its not a media issue

has your original game got any bad scratches or anything, or it might just be something wrong with your chip or the original game, how does other games load as it could be your laser too

well i just did time splitters 2 gt concept and splinter cell and they all booted 1st time all my other originals work fine and the pro evolution is ok not marked or anything and it cant be the laser coz the ps2 is brand new dude

well getting a brand new ps2 doesn't mean that your laser is perfect, as u might have a faulty laser, but as your other games boot fine im stuck,like i said before ive had no probs with this game, and if it worked on your friends machine i really don't know,im sorry i can't help you anymore hope you get it sorted, all the best

Laser might just need a bit of tweaking. Could be anything.

Rent it, see if the rental also borks.

P.S. Also you didn't say - REAL Messiah2 or generic?

Messiah 2 boots Pro Evo 2 with no problems.....

Hmmm... Now I wonder..... Are you 100% positive that it is a Messiah 2.....?

It is a new console right ( version 7 or 8).

Just that I heard a tale about someone selling reconditioned version3 & 4's with magic dropped in as a new pre modded messiah PS2.

thanks for replies guys had the same trouble with lord of the rings original and backup so sent it back to supplier who guarantee me its messiah 2 and its definately v7 i think laser has not been calibrated
