I am planning on getting a mod chip for my xbox. My question is which chip is best to get because of xbox live. A friend told me there is a chip that has a switch on it to turn off before you go live, is this true and whats the name of this chip. And which chip is best again.

I just posted here. It should answer your question. And yes, you can put switches on em to turn them off (switch not supplied), so you won't get banned from xbox live.

AX: does having the X2 lite allow u to go online? I have one but never been able to know for sure that I can go online with it. I wanted to go online with my original mechassault but threw the idea out the window due to the bannings of ppl with modchips.

try xbconnect, not xbl, although xbl would still work the x2 lite if u keep the xbox under the original name, and use an original disc....i believe

You can play online if you changed your XBox's name. My buddy Robert does gos on XBL whis is XBox named Rob all the time.

you modchip has to be Off, and you have to have the ms dashboard setup, not something like evolution X
