Unscannable Backup
 

Ok, I have a game I want to make a backup of. However this game is Japniese, and CloneyXXL is having trouble scanning the cd because of some of the JAP filenames. Since I can't scan it, I cant detect what protection it has, any ideas?

Errr, I can't install it. At least not until I upgrade to Windows XP, currently I have Windows 98 and it cant handle the Japnise filenames the cd tries to install.

Grab the exe? What do you mean? If you are talking about a cracked exe, this is a recently released Japniese only PC game, I highly doubt I will find one.

CirKutz mean you have to search the whole CD for the EXE for scanning it.
If the EXE isn't located themself on the CD try using I6Comp to get it out of a CAB file, save it to DeskTop (or somewhere) and scan it.

The only exe (setup.exe) didnt have any protection according to the scanners....... but I find that a little hard to believe since the game was released 1 month ago.

I know my cd drive can burn most pc protections (Asus 5224a) so is there any settings I can choose in Alcohol 120% or somethign that will burn the protection, if any?

I know theres FAQS for this but it has different settings for each protection, is there one that tells mw what settings to choose if I dont know the protection?
