can you burn an avi or mpg file to a cd and view it in your PS2? i'm not sure i heard right but is there really a VCD boot disc or will mod chips allow this?

no there is no vcd boot disk

ps2reality player will play certain avi

only way to play vcd i have found is to use authoring program (ie mydvd free with uk a04)drag vcd in let it make u a dvd image (3-4 films on 1 disk,then burn the image ps2 plays it as a dvd film then

oh, and using this method, do you have to use DVD discs? and will Nero Express (came with Verbatim DVD+ Producer, has a VCD burning utility) work?

You can use cdr no problem. You can get PS2 Reality Player here

What dust2dust meant was that you can burn minidvd, which is dvd quality on cd's. PS2 will play it like a dvd but it will be on a cd, hence the fact that u need to use more cd's.

You do have winrar installed right? It works fine for me...

yeah, i tried downloading it twice, and it failed to extract twice

so i need a mod chip, right?
