Well if u have a good mod chip it shouldn't do that

JackStar 24-03-2003 12:08

But it workds with other games, but i can never get it to work with my games that i make. Could it be the mod chit dont take UK back up's? I got the PS3 when i was on holiday not here in UK.

PS2 VS XBOX

I have both a PS2 and XBOX chipped. I can tell you it is alot easier to copy PS2 games than it is to copy XBOX games. XBOX copies requre some PC knowledge and a router or HUB. So unless you want to spend an additional $100 - $200 on PC equipment, stick with the PS2. It has more games anyway!!!

The X-Box is not much harder to backup... It does take a little more equipment.... But after you do it once or twice, it becomes second nature just like the PS2......

Although..... Since you are asking this question on the PS2 forum, what answer did you expect......????

PS2 RULES!!!!!:)

I have both moded.

I prefer the Xbox...

It simply got hacked like nothing else. You can ftp to it, you can map the drives on the Xbox on your PC, you can run games from the hard drive, you can run emulators at perfect speed :) Well like Snes, Genesis, Nes etc...

Also with the same game on both consoles, the Xbox version will usually be the better port.

Now about backing up games it just takes more time. Since you must copy the game to HD, upload it to your PC HD and make an iso image if you want then burn it.

You can also send files directly from the Xbox DVD-Drive but it takes more time.

So for a Xbox game to be ready to burn takes 20-40 mins.

PS2 has some nice exclusive titles though. A good modchip is required to enjoy the PS2 like it's meant to.

Hi, can u help me with this problem of my games not runing when i make a back up.

saulin74 24-03-2003 20:45

PS2 games are just too easy to copy...

If you have the original all you need to do is cd to cd copy and it should work just fine. For this you could use RecordNow Max, or DiscJuggler. Well Nero should work too. Just sue the wizard, select dvd and do a cd to cd copy.

Now you may want to select the option to create an image first to prevent possible buffer underun errors.

If you got the iso from the net and it is a full DVD iso. Just use RecordNow max with the image burning option and the default settings.

Now to play the games you should have say:

A Magic 2
A Magic 3
A Magic 3.1
A Messiah 1
A Messiah 2

I believe all these should boot just about anything. Some better than others. For example the best modchip is said to be the Messiah 2 and the second best the one I have the Magic 3.1.

Follow the boot instructions for your chip found here: http://www.fileforums.com/showthread...threadid=38232

Not only that, but on this forum previously (I can't remember who), had said that they had done some research on the processors in both consoles and the PS2 Processor turned out to be more potent. It would be nice to have an input here mate, tell us exactly what you found out...

Personally I prefer PS2. Easier to backup, more games and will probably have a longer lifespan than the 'BoX as the PS2 has outsold it by a mile. But, if you can afford both, why not get both?

JackStar 25-03-2003 16:24

Looks like i will keep my PS2. But was thinking of geting a better chip in it as i hear there are same that dont need a boot disk befor u put in the game. How hard is it to take out old chip and put in new one?

BTW i think all this copying thing is not for me. I have tryed a lot of things and never got a good copy of a PS2 or a DVD. Its just a bit over my head (but yes i do know how to back up same CD's) LOL. Can same one tell me how to set up my PC so i can get a working backup?

I have a:
Athlon XP 2200+
785.904 Ram (dont know what the 904 is but it says it like that in system properties)
Win2K Pro (thinking of going to XP again soon but dont know)
60 gb and 80 gb hard drives
DVD Rom and a Pioneer A05 DVD-R/DVD-RW

Is there any thing i need to do to my PC or the setings of it to fix this or is it just me?

PLZ help if u can. Ask if u need more info.

JackStar 25-03-2003 16:37

I was just thinking about this and im not a 100% if i have a driver for it (my DVD-R). Do u need one or just it work by its self. I get good back ups of the music CD's and all that.
