Help with unsafedisc 2.40.10
 

Everytime I try to use it with any Safedisc v2 protected exe I keep getting 'random error'. What the heck is a random error and how can I correct it?

I am trying to unsafedisc my Civ3 exe because I can't play it with this stupid safedisc protection on it. The splashscreen pops up then fades and I am still in windows. I had this same problem with PoR.

So any help is appreciated.

All I want to do is use unsafedisc 2.40.10 to make a no cd for my Civ3 but everytime I do, I get a Random Error message. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

try using the other unsafedisc i think is v2.30.06 or something

Just something help to ya:
1. Use SAFEDISC ANALYSER (search net...)
to get which version is.
2. You need the called files in your RIGHT
directory paths when DUMPED the
Safedisc protected file!

1. FULL install of your game.
2. Original cd or PERFECT 1:1 copy in the cdrom.
3. Check safedisc version using analyser
4. Check that game runs with cd in drive.
5. Run appropriate dumper with NOTHING in the background.
6. Keep trying until it works. It will work, but not every time. In one case, I needed 20+ attempts to dump Max Payne

each point must be satisfied otherwise the dumper has no chance of working.
