Splinter Cell install error - CD "0"

1 Attachment(s)
Hi -
I'm trying to install Splinter Cell - it is coming up with a weird error.
During the installtion process, it asks for cd2 and then 3 (for the data3.cab and the data4.cab) - after i insert cd3 - i accepts it and then asks for CD "0" - looking for file "data5.cab"??? There is no data5.cab - i have tried a few things - but no go. Anyone had this issue???
Please lemme know,
thanks.

go to www.microsoft.com
search for 'microsoft installer'
download and install the update

its a known problem with some installshield setups...

what's your point? Isn't that very off topic?

Just a sarcastic follow-up to TippeX's last comment, but yeah, a bit off topic...

??? OFF TOPIC????

Hi all,
My windows installer is up to date (2.0) - i had tried directX 9 - i dont think it would be because of that... anyone knows what protection it uses???

TippeX 19-03-2003 21:28

securom or safedisc 2, i think it was securom though

GLH 19-03-2003 22:51

Splinter Cell [german] is protected with Safedisc V2.80.xx !!!

Follow up to the problem with the "CD 0 with data5.cab".
Each time i had this error the backup wasn't correct.
The previous archive (data4.cab) was broken so the installer don't come the the end of the archive and ask for the next one !!!

But, if you (KRU-G) have this problem with your original cds, you should bring the game back to store...
