DvD Copy protection?? Please Help!! Important!

Hello y'all,

i have a ps 2 v 7 with a working magic 3 chip.
I use a dvd +burner to backup my games, and i succesfully created around 6 backups with nero.
Then it happened. I tried to backup time splitters 2 and after i succesfully burnt the image, IT DIDNT WORK!!
How can that be? I mean is there any copy protection for exact dvd copies? after some other fine working backups, i have the same problem with Freek style too. Please help, i was in 3 forums now and nobody had an idea ... I heard that primo dvd burning is a good program, maybe that'll do it? i dont want to do further experiments, because 4 not working dvd medias are enough.
(i lost around 10 € with that)
Any of you with a dvd burner, please tell me if you experienced such problems too, or if you succesfully burnt these games and then how.
Another problem that i have is with a cd backup of half-life. Does anyone now if this game is "fade-protected" ? Because after around 5 minutes of playing, the game stops and there are some strange "picture-freezing" errors.

Are there patches in the net wich can repair wrong or protected dvd images? And if yes where can i get these? All that i found was for ripped image files.

If you have any questions about dvd burners or the big "+ or - question", i would be pleased to help you, because after 3 months of searching the net and asking people i am well informed now ;)

Please answer me, even if you just have a guess what could be the problem. And sorry for my english, its a long time ago since i had to write in english at school (i am german).

I am guessing that your problem with Timesplitters is probably your chip. It is fairly well known the magic chips have problems with some games. If I remember correctly Time splitters was one of them, I could be wrong though.

What type of media are you using?

TimeSplitters 2 is a very large game... If you are using sub-par media, that can have a effect on games with a very high toc....

I would personally use RecordNow Max or Primo DVD......

There have been some people that used to use Nero until they ran into a game that Nero didn't seem to work on. They changed to RecordNow Max or Primo DVD and their problems were solved.

I have backed up ALL 3 of the games you mentioned..... No problem at all......

(Use Clone CD for cd based games)

Thanks

I tried to do it with primo but i cant do more than creating an image file because primo doesnt seem to recognize my dvd burner as a burner, more as a reader. Tried the gx engine update,
didnt help. I Will try ´Recordnow max now, if it works i am gonna inform you. What Medias did you use für that games? and which program do you prefer ? primo or recordnow max?

Medias

Ah i forgot. I used both , Traxdate purple dvd+ medias ( heard they should be good) and Phillips dvd+r s (the case is black/green, no matter how to define these medias) nothing worked for timesplitters... Maybe good old nero has still some error correction functions enabled that just make some games dont work or something .. ahh no matter i will try that program now i am really happy that you have nothing heard of any dvd copy protection ...
