What kind of Mod??
 

i just got a new mod (because usb mods suck) but i dont have a clue what kind it is. My cousin said he'd get me a mod but he never told me what kind. All i know is:

It plays all originals
It plays DVD-R backups from same region
Plays Imported DVD-R backups in black and white
Plays all PS1 backups (but i gotta turn it off with the game inside the tray, then hold the power button for about 3 seconds when i turn it on)

I'm not sure but i think its called a Matrix or something like that.

Check my boot procedures post and see which mod boots everything the way yours does...

I had a look and I am pretty sure its a Matrix 2. Unless anybody can prove me wrong, that is the conclusion i will draw

Those procedures match the Matrix 2 as well as some others. Sounds like you have a decent chip regardless.
