cant read dvd games!!!
 

need to know why my chip cant read backup ps2 dvd games.
dont know wht chip i have, but heres the backup method

1.put ar2 in
2. press reset twice
3.in ar2 menu swap the ar2 disk with dvd utility disk
4. press w/o codes
5. cd-rom bounces out automatically. swap with backup.
5.play

It could be your booting process......
Alot of mod chips boot dvd backups differently than cd backups.

Also..... How were the backups on dvd-r created?
What program did you use?
What media are you using?

1. but my friends tried the disk and it worked.
2.Im using ar2 ver1.9 and a dvd utility disk.

Moderators NOTE: I have edited this post. Please don't talk about buying backups from a pirated store.

Do original DVD's work? if not it may be your drive. Try to put in a movie burnt to a dvd-r too. Some older versions have problems with reading dvd-r.

Maybe one of the soldering points came undone???

its kinda weird now because i tried ffx(dvdr) and it works but it always hangs at the same place it hangs everytime....and i tried gta(dvdr) too but it didnt work.. i tried the cdr version of gta and it didnt work also. they both hang at a black screen after i use ar2 and press X. my friend also tried all of them and worked..
whts the problem with my ps2 ?!?!
