Backing up with DRU-500A
I read the forums and I followed the sticky on how to backup using PrimoDVD 2.0 however it doesn't support it. So I used my dvd reader to create an image of Guilty Gear X2 and then burned the .gi file with recordnow [the one that came with my dvd writer] but 4 coasters later, I figured something's wrong. Man, what's the best way to backup using my burner? Thanks in advance.

Should be as simple as clicking on the drive with the disc and selecting "build global image", this you already know. Use the min speed until you get things working then use whatever works. Min will still be needed for scratched or damaged discs. After the image is built select "image" from the options at the top. Then select your image. Burn at slowest speed possible. Other possible suspects could be the media you are using. A lot of major brands, like memorex, suck. Ritek are about the best and cheapest out there. Also if you have a version 1-4 it is possible that your laser is dying and cannot read dvdr. If cd-r backups work but not dvd-r then this is probably the case.

PikachuX what you need is a full version of record now max 4.5, the version you got with your burner only allows you to make a temp gi file. i have the dru-500a and i burn 2x dvd to dvd with no problems at all. i use tdk, ritek, and verbatim dvdr. if you need rnm 4.5 you can dl it off my ftp server. i also have gulty gear x 2. works great. ;)

I think what Bighap is getting at is that you are offering a program to someone which isn't "freeware" or "shareware"....
So since its not sharware or freeware, and you allowing someone to download it, that would be considered illegal and NOT allowed on this forum....(Unless you are allowing them to download the demo) I can appreciate you trying to help out other members..... But try and keep it as "legal" as possible...... :) |

I wasn't trying to sound like a jerk Voodoo, just sticking by the forum rules like BG said. No hard feelings here.
