Backedup gameshark don't work
 

I own gameshark 2 v1.9 & v1.6
loaned out my original v1.9 disk and dongle
tried using my backup of v1.9 with my v1.6 dongle
backup loads ok, does everything the same as original
BUT when I go to "Start Game With Codes" after inserting the game (original or backups), the whole the freezes and the disk stops spinning

My question is:
Would it be a back up prob or dongle prob?
