Help is it v1.1 or 1.2?

Hi I just got a new Xbox and here is the info I got

1) It was manufactured on Dec 11, 2002.

2) Also under settings -> System info it says:
K:1.00.4817.01
D:1.00.4920.01

I gave it to someone to mod it for me with a Matrix chip and he says he could not do it. The pogo pins of the Matrix did not align correctly or something like that. So he could not put a solderless chip. He also said it is the first time he sees a board like the one on my Xbox. All the others board would take the Matrix no problem he said.

So I'm wondering if my Xbox is a 1.2. Mine is the one that comes with 2 games. Halo and Amped.

According to your kernel you have a 1.1

I would take it to someone that knows more than your buddie or get educated yourself.

yup sounds like a 1.1

rms2001 10-03-2003 17:25

From what I was reading the Ver1.2 runs the same kernel as the Ver1.1.
But I could be wrong.

rms2001 10-03-2003 17:37

Never mind I'm a dumb ass I was wrong.

JiveTurkey 10-03-2003 17:59

Yes you must be a dumba$$!! :p

The 1.2 kernel is 5101. 1.1's are either 4817 or 4972.

AXmichigan 10-03-2003 19:17

ehhh 's all good
so i believe the conclusion is v1.1

rms2001 10-03-2003 20:05

Ya Ver1.1

Maybe the guy installing the chip doesnt know what hes doing.

I know with some Ver1.1s the Matrix didnt line up the the D0. So you would have to solder that wire.

saulin74 11-03-2003 16:48

Ok that's cool. I guess that guy probably had never done a 1.1 Xbox just 1.0

I'll have someone else install a X-Ecuter2 Pro.

Thx for the replies guys. I was pretty sure it was a 1.1 too.

rms2001 11-03-2003 17:49

Maybe you should open it up and look at the hardware your self to see what Ver. it is so you know 100%.

AXmichigan 11-03-2003 18:05

u could
just to verify if u want

saulin74 11-03-2003 18:11

Yeah but Xbox uses some "stars" shaped screws. I don't have the tools to open it....

rms2001 11-03-2003 23:22

Its called a torx.
You will need a torx 10 and 20 bit driver.

You can pick them up at any auto parts store. I bought mine from AutoZone.
You can also get them at any hard ware store, or even Wal-Mart, hell I know you can even get them at Home Depot if thats easier for you.

saulin74 12-03-2003 16:25

Cool thx for the info..

I will need them when I upgrade my Xbox HD too.

AXmichigan 13-03-2003 10:37

yea torx is what u need
take it one step out of a time
good luck
