PS2Reality DVDR?

Has anyone gotten this to work on a DVDR? Does anyone even know if it can work on a DVDR?

I have got it to work with movies on a dvd-r. The player was on a cd though and I swapped in a dvd-r with the movies on it and it played fine. If you are going to put xvid onto it then you need to change the fourcc codec used for the file from xvid to divx or the player will not be able to play it.

Thanks, I did some searching and found a few people who got your method to work. They started with CD then swapped a DVD. I'm going to try out the player and movies on one DVD and I'll post the results a little later.

No luck. Burnt at 1X and does not boot. Still plays fine after switching after booting with the CD though. Just wishful thinking I guess for this early. I did get one lead though. It was suggested to me that the program cddvdgen might get it to work. I have the program but lack any of the volume information needed to create a disc. If anyone can help here it would be appreciated?

I know how to use cd/dvd generator. Its been a long time since I used to rip though. Explane better what exactly you wanna do. Is it that you want to burn this image from a cd to a dvd and have it work or do you want it to boot dvdr or what?

Basically I want to get PS2Reality and some avi movies on one bootable dvdr. Instead of starting with a cd and then swapping to a dvdr.

I'm not sure of having the ps2 reality media player and the movies/mp3s on one dvd-r. I have however put the cd with the media player on it and then did a successful swap putting in the dvd-r. I had 3 full length divx movies on the dvd-r and they seemed to all boot fine. I have never messed with the cd/dvd generator program. I don't see the importance of have the media player and the movies on the same disc as long as the swap works. So far it has worked good for me.

I know you can swap the dvd after the cd. I tried putting ps2reality on dvd with 8 movies and it didn't work. So I then started with cd and swapped the dvd and it worked fine. Its really not terribly important to have it on a dvdr but just a metter of lazyness and nothing better to do with my time than to try and figure it out.

When I burn the ps2 reality disc onto a cdr I always burn it in mode 2. When creating dvd data disc mode 2 is not an option so maybe this is why it doesn't work. Since the media player is already running when you do the swap it probably doesn't care what mode its in as long as there are avi files on the disc. Just a thought.

This is what i do for cdr. The first time i downloaded it as a bin\cue file. loaded the cue in nero and burnt. I put the disc back in the drive and opened then copied the three files inside to my hard drive. Now whenever I wnat to make a movie disc i just load the three files and whatever movies i want to recordnow under the dats disc option. I can burn at max speed and it all works fine.

TylerDurden: the bin/cue he's talking about downloading is the PS2Reality player... it's free for all kind of use!

(the latest version is a zip that contains a bin, cue and txt file...)

Thanx for clearing that up sp4m!

TylerDurden 10-03-2003 11:23
