is this any good for a 1 :1 copy with no need for patching ?????

The HP 9300 (unless anyone can contradict from experience) will make 1:1 copies of the original in RAW/DAO.

Whether there is a need for patching depends on your PS2 origin, the modchip and whether the game is an import.
