Original games on chipped PS 2
I've almost completely given up on getting a burned Xenosaga DVD that works. If worse comes to worst, I'll just get the original.
Just one question: will my machine (SCPH 39002 PAL, chipped with Magic 2) be able to play originals? And is there a different way to boot originals on a chipped PS 2? Please help! |
I've heard Xenosaga is on a DVD9, if so you won't be able to back it up unless you rip it to a regular dvd-r.
PS2 originals work even better than backups, for magic2 is the same boot procedure as a backup. Remember you are supposed to own the original in order to make a backup of it. |
Xenosaga only boots about 1 out of 10 times on a V7 w/Magic 2....
It will boot 100% of the time if booted behind a gameshark.... As kooldraco said..... You should give up on getting a backup if you don't OWN the original...... Since thats illegal....... |
Thanks, Kooldraco and BG.
BTW, BG, when you said Xenosaga only boots once in ten tries, did you mean the original or the burned version? Also, how much does a gameshark cost? I thought they haven't made a PS 2 gameshark yet. Then again, I haven't been pretty update on the video game scene for a while :o In any case, I'll be getting the original, then. Actually, where I come from, owning a burned copy of a game isn't illegal per se (they can't jail you, anyway), unless you're planning to sell it. I thought I might ask someone I know to burn one for me, but it seems everyone isn't having any luck doing it, what with the hassle of having to rip it first and split the darn thing into two DVD's. I heard they used two DVD's for the Japanese version. They should've just stuck to that format, if you ask me... |
actually they ripped it already, and downgraded the movie quality on the movies
