IF you are following the tutorial at the top of this forum for Primo to the letter.......

It shouldn't be the software end of it.....

What media are you using?????

Also....... Since you have a V3..... You may find that it doesn;t like to read dvd-r discs......

thanks for the quick reply, i have tried monarch dvd-r ,pioneer oem dvd-r (purple) and traxdata , but all i seem to be doing is making frisbees for the children. when i read the on the pc everything seems to be there but the just wont play . i can get cdr to work no problem so i know the magic 3 is working
...........many thanks:(

If you are burning correctly and have tried Traxdata with no success, then your laser probably isn't up to the task.:(

digetek 07-03-2003 01:16

have know tried dvd decrypter with no results on ritek, infiniti, traxdata and gogo red and i,m assured that they work on it with somebody who backs up on them, When you say the laser is not up to it do you meen on the writer or the ps2, might have to buy a newer ps2
.........................................many thanks:(

The ps2 laser. V3s didn't have very good lasers and can struggle with recorded dvd media as a result. Sounds like you are in the market for a new ps2. Ritek and Traxdata are proven winners, so if they don't work nothing will.

digetek 07-03-2003 04:07

can the lazer not be changed

TylerDurden 07-03-2003 05:31

Yes, but it so much trouble and it too may not be properly adjusted. Plus I you have the tools or necessary skills to replace and adjust one. The easiest thing to do is get another ps2.

have now bought myself a v6 ps2 but have still got the same problem , (dvd roms will not play) have also copied a film which plays in 4 different dvd players but cannot get it to play in the ps2, have tried primo dvd, dvd decrypter, cdrwin, and nero. Dont have any problems with cdr,s. What i,m i doing Wrong:(

You either have a bad chip or screwed up on the install somewhere.

TylerDurden 10-03-2003 14:15

Please post exactly how you are trying to boot up these games and give results on what happens.

start from stand by (red light) press reset until blue light comes on and all i ever get is please insert a playstation or a playstation 2 format disk, Back up of cdr,s work no problem .have just tried record now and still no joy , The collection of frisbees is getting bigger:(

TylerDurden 10-03-2003 17:28

digetek,

I thought you were supposed to turn on your system, eject, put the game in, tap the reset and let it run.

What your doing is what you do for movie play.

Tyler hit it exactly.......

If you are holding reset until the blue eject light comes on, the PS2 thinks you are trying to boot either a dvd movie or a PS1 game........

All you need to do is put the game in and tap reset one time and it should boot with no problems.....

TylerDurden 10-03-2003 17:36

Now, lets see what results he posts.
