If i need a new laser where can i get one from cheap and where can i get it installed

I'm looking for one too, a v5.Send it to www.freedomlives.com for insall after you find one.If I find someplace to buy one I'll post back here.

Old version lasers, v1-v4, are easy to come by, but you don't see any v5-v7 lasers lurking around. lunardave5 is correct by recommending Bill as he says right on his site that he does do lasers as well. Only $25 for install and adjustment.

goto ebay and type in broken ps2's i see lasers on there all the time theres one guy on there that sells ps2 parts relly cheap but there not new lasers

don't know about the us but you can't get lasers for love nor money in the uk no one seems to have any due to demand shame sony didn't use a decent one in 1st place

Yes, but those won't work with your v7. It only works with v1-v4.

So what can i do should i buy a new ps2

i cleaned it it still havs the disk read error
i'm not sure if its the laser or wiring

I would send it to Bill so he can determine if it's the laser or something else, then just go from there. If it's the laser, have Bill hold onto your ps2 then send him the replacement laser.

145$ thats alot u can get a good used ps2 off ebay for that price

$145 is steep.Told my nephew to buy new v7 w\messiah instead of fixing his for this price, damn lazers are $$$.
But maybe fix and sell it.But then again I've read that some people have traded in their old broke ps2's and got a discount on a new modded one.Freak, you should at least e-mail or call Bill at Freedomlives to see if he thinks its the lazer or a wire, maybe just needs adjusting, if its to much $$, look to get credit for new one.
