idiot's book of dummyfiles (xenosaga)

Is xenosaga really 8 gigs of gameplay data? FFX was able to fit into 4.7. Might there be some dummy files that could be mimic'd if xenosaga had dummy files?

FFX is not decompressed or anything..You can literally make 1:1 copy of that..
Xenosaga is pure 8 gigs of game..There is nothing you can do rip out stuff..Best option is decompress the files but don't plan on ripping anything out..

The "RIP" of Xenosaga is actually NOT a rip.....

They re-encoded the movies at a lower rate to make them smaller..... Thus making the game fit on a dvd-r but the movie quality is a little lower.....

So you have a game that will fit on a dvd-r with nothing removed....

were can u get the decompresser

bg have u got xenosaga on dvd-r or were can i get a program to do this

Yes.... I have Xeonosaga on DVD-R...... (And YES... I do OWN the original).......

I'm currently trying to track down the program that was used to compress the movie files and also the EXACT method that was used to create the so-called RIP.....

I'll try and keep you posted on what I find out.....

TMPEG encoder is one of the tools used to do that.

TYLER!

I wonder if Instant Copy from Pinnacle would work ? I've used it backing up my movies & it seems to just compress the movie & leaves the menues & sound alone. Just a thought. I don't have any DVD9 games to test

PS2 games and dvd movies are completely different. Instant Copy will be looking for VOBs to compress. You won't find these on PS2 games.
