cloning game+music CDroms

I am a complete newbie here and have just searched the site for an answer to my question, to no avail. I have been trying to clone a game CD that has bonus audio tracks as well, but all I get on my cloned disc are the audio tracks. What am I doing wrong?

Need some more info if you want help. What game? What software did you use to copy? What burner?

Game is called Capoeira Fighter 2, I used CloneCD to clone it and I have a Lite-On LTR 48246S burner.

Have you ever heard of CLONYXXL. This is a detection program to see what kind of security is used. So you can make a backup from the cd.

All the settings you must use for clonecd are detected by it.

:D

I hadn't heard of ClonyXXL, but I downloaded it and gave it a try. As far as I know, the game CDrom has no or unknown protection according to ClonyXXL. It has 5 "skulls". So now what??:D

topcad 10-03-2003 01:35

that isn't a "hard" to copy cd according to the skulls but if it is unknown i always use the burning program Alcohol 120%.

The best thing you can do is to make a image and then load it into your image drive (virtual cd drive),
at this way you wont spill any cd's and can try time after time without any problems.

The setting i use for a unknown game cd in Alcohol are:

1 - Skip reading errors
2 - Fast skip error blocks
3 - Read Subchannel data from current disc

goodluck.

I'm looking on some other forums for you if this problem is well known.

podunkviller 10-03-2003 01:39

how many sessions are on the disc? you may only be copying one session or the other.

topcad 10-03-2003 01:46

But if you are using Alcohol and use's "raw dao" burning there is at most time's (my experience) no problem.
But i copy most of the time Audio cd's.

Alcohol will make two reading and burning sessions just like clonecd but i don't no for sure anymore if you can choose the burning type with clonecd so it might be that alcohol can't help out.

Thanks for your help! I don't have alcohol 120%, so I will have to try and get it and use your suggestions. I'm assuming then that CloneCD won't work for this application?

topcad 10-03-2003 11:30

In the past i had some cd's i could not burn with clonecd and there was no problem with alcohol.

So give it a try. You can also make an image and then load it into the virtual cd drive from alcohol,
at this way you don't spill cd's while trying.

mr belvedere at club.cdfreaks.com has a link to an excel file in his sig. this file is a massive list of games, and their protections. perhaps you should check here?

cauldronmistres 10-03-2003 17:20

Unfortunately my game wasn't on his list, but thanks anyways!
