PS2 not playing backups
 

Hi, don't know if ne1 can help. I've got a v3 PS2, with an original Messiah chip in it. It was fitted about a year and a half ago, and I've had no problems. Suddenly, its stopped playing back-up cd's although its still playing backup DVD's.

NE1 know if there's a way around this, or do I need a Messiah 2??

The lens might need some cleaning. Give that a try first using a laser cleaning disc.

yep, tried that already thanx (twice just to be sure) but it still only plays dvd back-ups and originals. I know the back-ups are good, because someone else tried them and they worked perfectly, and they used to work fine on mine, so its got to be something wrong with the PS2 or the chip, and its something I know nothing about!!
