dramatic transfer speed increase?
When I ftp to my xbox and get files from the dvd drive, I usually get a speed of about 1.9mb/s. But, if I unplug the network cable before I turn on my xbox, then plug it back in after evolutionX loads up, my transfer speed launches to a whopping 4.5mb/s. I've alternated between unplugging, and not unplugging about 10 times. The conclusion is always the same.
I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this. It seems that there are alot of poeple with slow transfer rates. Could this be a possible solution? Does anyone want to try doing this at all and tell me if they get the same thing? |
i tried that
its the same for me too |
I'm going to have to try that. I use to get 1.5 / 6mg a sec, then I bought a new router and only get about 600k a sec.
I'll have to give this a try. |
This is weird, if my XBox boots EvoX with out a patch cable plugged in, it wont get an IP, and if it boots with a patch cable plugged in it will get an IP, even though the IP is set in its INI file and its static.
WTF am I doing wrong here? |
you have to set a static IP.
|
It is, 192.168.2.100 is my IP of my XBox.
|
you might have to change the 2 to 0, so it would be 192.168.0.100
|
I could do what, but then I would have the change all my wireless IPs and computers IP as well.
It really shouldnt matter what the IP is. |
yep ip doesn't really matter - just the first 2 parts of the ip must be tha same - i also have to boot my box with cable plugged in to get connection (direct link via crossover cable) - dunno why, but works fine. my transfer rate is around 4-7 MB/sec - the speed lagely depends on the EvolutionX version - my previous version made only 1.5 MB/sec so make sure you have the latest one!
