Sounds like the discs you were using were 2X or 4X compaitable... The ones you have now are only 1X.....

I have personally seen these discs.... They are not very good quality....

Hopefully you will be able to use them without too many problems...

ive done one game at 2x and one at 4x they both seem to work so far, or is the burner just going to burn at 1x anyways? also how can you tell if a disk is 2x or 4x ?

thanks

If the disc is only 1X capable, that is all it will burn at...(There are a few exceptions)

If you are using RecordNow Max to burn with, you can set it to burn a whatever you want, but after the disc initializes, it will default back to what the disc will allow.....

Just watch the time on RecordNow for about the first 2-3 mins.... It will say something like 16 min left.... The all of a sudden it will go to 49 min left.... These numbers are just to give you an idea of how much the time will change...

I would get Riteks.....

You can get the 4X versions for about $179.00 for 100.....
Or you can get the 1X versions for around $99.00 for 100....

But with the right drive and firmware, those 1x Riteks become 2x.:)

Hey hap ..

I've got the 104 w/ 1.31. And Ritek 1x.

Think I could burn at 2x safely ?

Tell me more, tell me more .:D

You should be fine. I always burn at 2x with my 1x Riteks. Never had a bad burn.
