Problem with HIEW
 

I've been using Hiew for a wile but if I try to use that to "edit" a file it gives me a error message "Read mode only":mad:

What a hell that's means? Of course my copy of Hiew is not registred:D

What can I do? if somebody know, plz!:confused: :confused: :confused:

Make sure that the file you're trying to edit isn't write protected and that no other programs are using the file...

thank you, for your message, but the problems is I'm trying to find the "error message-Insert the correct cd" on Battlefields 1942 with W32dasm 8.9 but I can't find that! Can you help me!

I've been looking on all *.exe's and all *.dll's and I can find him! I've used "Safedisc2Ceaner v*.*" it begin good but later if I want to choose "Single player" it's ask me the "****in' correct cd", sorry for my words but I'm tire to search! :( :( :(

I made a copy 1:1 with Clone CD and it works but you know what that was too easy, I need something a little bit more difficult but this is too diff. for me!

(1) its encrypted
(2) its safedisc
(3) string searching wont work
(4) it aint a simple hiew/w32dasm job

never used w32dasm, just other debuggers - but string searching is a waste of time. can you just step through the exe until you find where it pops the 'insert correct cd', set a breakpoint, follow the jumps and what not...... - of course, thats probably too simple too :P. try reading at www.learn2crack.com

ahh man it is all in koren and i dont want to install the lan thing to make it elg lol oh well :(
