standby mode
 

I was talking to somebody today that said you should never turn your ps2 off always leave it in standby mode.

By doing this you somehow prevent damage to the ps2.

Should you leave it in standby mode after you finish playing for a couple of hours???

What is the purpose of standby mode anyway???

I think it is kind of a pointless feature.

Most electronics have a standby mode.

Look at your TV, DVD player, VCR, surround reciever, etc. If you see any form of activity, ie- red light, clock, etc .... it's not off. It's in standby.

I always shut my PS2 off though.

What it is right is that when u switch off u have a small chance of a "Transient Current" running back up the line and into yr ps2.

The chance is pretty small and the ps2 Power supply would stop it anyway but I guessss that yr m8 is just a bit mad, infact totally insane!!..

Maybe twenty years ago but these days things are tested for transients before being sold.

Tell yr m8 to go back to Russssia.
