Illegal to buymodchip in US?
 

Is it illegal to buy a modchip in the US? I already bought some from Gamegizmo.com and thought about ordering some more for friends. Gamegizmo is located in Michigan & NY.

To my knowledge it is not illegal to have a chipped ps2. However it is illegal to make COPIES of games.

Copies.....When you don't own the original game...illegal
Back-ups......When you own the original game....Legal

chipping and owning a chip is perfectly legal, as you are legally allowed to have one back-up of any software you own.

and as u need a chip in this case, you couldnt get busted

Not this time my friend, I'm staying home (THANK GOD). I was scheduled to be discharged in april until our president decided to freeze all enlisted personal. I guess 19 years of service isnt enough.

Know wot u mean. I been out of service and EMC Engineering 4 nearly a year now but am still on st/by to nuke Iraq.

Perhaps we could just send 'Wot Can Be' into iraq and he could baffle them into submission!!
