Holding down eject button

when I hold down the eject button for it to turn orange, the cd tray wont come out. is there anyway to fix this problem?

What DOES happen, does it make a sound like it would if the drawer were to actually open, do the power and eject buttons still work normally, any other info? You may have gotten hold of a bad chip. Seems to be quite common. I got one for my brother's PS2 that was bad and had to exchange it. Received the replacement today and works like a charm.

the buttons on the eject and reset button are normal. it works when i just hit the eject button but when i try to hold it down for it to turn to orange, it make a funny noise then turns back to green.

You've got a bad chip. Try to exchange it with the place you bought it from. By the way, where did you get it?

Bushwick2002 13-02-2003 20:58

i got my chip from GO CYBER SHOP

now i got another problem. the eject light wont turn on. it was working a couple of min. ago. could it be the Reset/Eject Cable?

Preyhunter 13-02-2003 21:37

I still say the chip is bad. First thing I'd recommend is to put it all back the way it was originally, making sure that the two cables are seated properly. If the light comes back on, then it's probably the chip causing the light problem. If it doesn't, then you may have a faulty cable or faulty button led. If the tray still operates normally but the light doesn't work, I'd lean toward the problem being a faulty button led.

Maybe I should ask this...is the chip still in and does the tray still work even though the eject button light isn't on?

nope the cd tray dont work, I think its cuz the Reset/Eject Cable is damage

Uninstall the chip & see if it works normally.
