scph-30004 (and no R) and it has 10 screws!!! waht version do i have and what kind of no soldering chip do i need???
|
You have a pretty old version, I have a 39001, and my chip works great, except for the fact that it wont play psx backuped games :(

ok and can anybody tell me which no soldering mod i need???
|
My ps2 is 30003 and has 10 screws!!
I thought it was v4......... |
As far as I know, 10 screw is v3 or older.
The number of screws matches the number of screw holes in the motherboard. A v4 board only has holes for 8. |

Pay the extra money and get a direct boot chip.... You will be MUCH better off in the long run...... |
it is not for me it is for a friend of mine and would never sold something into his ps2 or would never let somebody solder it for him!! so actually he needs a no soldering modchip!! so what mod should he buy??
|
Just out o curiosity, can you guys boot ps2 games from the nwroser screen? Or you have to press reset?
|
For the Magic 3.1
1) I turn on from stanby 2) Open the Tray and wait for menu to appear 3) Put the CD and don't close tray and hit reset Seems like this does the trick everytime. I noticed that games burned with different software than the one used to make the image tend to be more picky at booting or have problems. I was having problems with Devil May Cry 2 and GTA: Vice City. Now I made the image for both of them with PrimoDVD and burn them with PrimoDVD and they work great on Verbatim DVD-Rs. Actually I did a Disk copy with PrimoDVD but using my burner only not on the fly. |
