PS2 "Backup" burning help

I recently ordered from online some backups for my PS2 (modded with a magic 3 modchip), and they work fine for the most part. Sometimes the games end up freezing and sometimes it takes awhile before they will actually start. This started happening recently after the system was dropped, and I'm wondering if this is why, and how I can fix it. Which leads me to my next question. When the system was dropped, I had Simpsons Road Rage in there, and it got scratched and now will not play period. Because of this event, I decided to try and backup the CD-R games that I could so that I won't have to order out for more backups. I have a macintosh computer (imac 700mhz lampshade flatscreen version) with just the standard CD-RW and DVD-R combo drive. I recently tried making a backup of the backup "Tekken Tag Team" and I could not get it to play. I'm using Roxio Toast Titanium and doing a direct burn. I also tried copying the disc image to my hardrive and then burning it, but that didn't work either. Do I have to have some kind of utility to burn PS2 cd-r games that will actually work on my system? If so, what software can I get to get the job done? Thanks for reading, and any help would be appreciated. You can also email me at: [email protected]

Thanks!

not good

wow if all this started after you dropped your ps2, then the reasonable is that something got damaged when it was dropped like the lazer or drive. I think you will probably need to pick up another stock ps2 and mod it back to perfection but just my opinion have fun and good luck. SCY.

You can send your ps2 to Bill at freedomlives.com for repair. For burning games with your Mac, go here and head down the Mac section by elkayps2.

"Verification Failed"

Thanks for the info. I followed the directions at the mac section, but the disc would still not play. It just says please enter a Playstaion One or Playstation Two disc. I'm wondering if perhaps I need to do something else? Is there anyone out there who has personally succesfully burned a CDR backup of a PS2 game? If so, please reply back or contact me by email. If there are any other guides out there that offer alternative ways, that would be helpful too. I got this error message when the disc was going through verification:

Mismatch at byte 2350/sector 122413
Verification Failed

Does anyone know what this means or why the verification would fail?

Thanks again for the info!

Giving advice on software backups bought on the net, i hope that you own the original cds/dvsds

Yes, of course I do. I thought I mentioned that earlier? If not, this is the situation. I have some PS2 ORIGINAL games that I purchased, but I was afraid of them getting scratched or damaged so I ordered some backup copies from an online company. I had to pay about five bucks for these though, so I decided I would try to backup the copies I had purchased from an online company because my dogs destroyed one of the backups within the first week I got them. Furthermore Boxy, my question was not an inquiry as to the legality of this issue, but an inquiry as to what kind of software I need in order to perform this specific task. So again, if anyone knows any information about THE ISSUE AT HAND, it would be greatly appreciated. My email address is: [email protected]

THANKS!
