I'm in a dilemma
 

I've v3 ps2 and I want it chipped
I hear that the laser will be too weak to play dvd-r
If I get a new laser would it be ok??
cause I don't think people will buy this v3 ps2........

It might play dvd-r but there is a good chance it will have problems. If you are registered on ebay you can sell it no problem. Don't say what version it is unless you are asked. I sold my v1 with 5 games for nearly $300.

I agree with Bighap.I have a V3 that plays games good but has probs. with some movies, so when I wanted to mod my ps2 I bought a new one as I was sure the v3 lazer was not up to the task.

I did the same with my V3 Neo 2.2 (just sell it 2 a person that doesn't know anything about ps2s)
Now i am getting a V7 with a Messiah :D

Same with me. Had a ver4 w/ neo 2.5. Sold it to my cousin for $120. Bought a ver7. weeeee

The moral of this story is never EVER buy a 2nd hand PS2.

I personally, I have ethics & a conscience so could not bring myself to do such an unholy act! :cool:
