Impossible to copy Sims:Unleashed???
 

After asking how to make a working copy of Sims:Unleashed (Which has SafeDisc 2) I was told it was impossible unless I had a Liteon burner and 120 alcohol(???). Is this right? Surely not. I've got CDClone and Clonyxxl but they havent produced the goods. I also got Nero5 which I havent tried yet (cos I'm running out of discs!!! Must get some cd-rw's!!). My burner is a brand new LG GCE-8480B, which seems to do all the RAW-DAO stuff, etc.

Well try ur LG with alcohol 120 this may still work

but if ur getting in to burning discs u might aswell get a lite on

@ sutmanin short No..I do not have a liteon and have had no probs backing up safe disk protected games at all. Remember backing up games is as much software as it is hardware. I use clonecd v4.1.0.1 and clonyxxl v2.0.0.6 English and have NOT come across a safedisk game i can not back up including new safe disk protection;)

I think Sims: Unleashed has SafeDisc 2.8x .
CloneCD4 has some problems with this version of SD2.

Take Alcohol120% to copy it.
(worked for me - german version)

@GLH I Diddnt no that clone4 had probs with safedisk2.8x. Do you no if some cdrw are able to get past the safedisk2.8x using clonecd 4 or is it a no no at this time?? (im intrested to know).
I am going to D/L the new version of clonecd (i have 4.1.0.1 but when i start up clone it reckons there is a new version) Hopefuly safedisk2.8x will be sorted in this version..All i got to do now is buy a game with safedisk2.8 to see how it gos as after looking most my games are safedisk 2.5 ect or there around

I readed it in a forum anytime ago, that CloneCD4 has some problems with SD2.8x. My burner is LiteOn 32123S and i was able to copy each SD2 protection except SD2.8 !!!

So i've use Alcohol120% and it worked fine.
Alcohol120% also is faster with skipping the read-errors with SD2 !!!
