Ripping/Burning

hey all.. i have ripped GTA3 and have been trying to burn the iso using CDRWin and Nero with both programs i have prolly made about 6 coasters.

My QUESTION: Does anyone know where i can find a guid on how to burn ripped games(iso) to a cd-r?or can some one tell me(IN DETAIL)?

PS. i have a version7 with magic 3,with switch(the switch works like a charm) i would recomend it to anyone who has had problems with the orignal magic3.0!

thanks for any help!

This was taken from a readme file in a GTA 3 pal ripkit.
1) Open CDRWIN;
2) Select "File Backup and Tools";
3) Select "Record an ISO9660 image file" in "Backup/Tool Operation" line;
4) Select DVD Rip ISO file "GTA3.iso" in "Image Filename" line;
5) Select "CDROM-XA" in "Disc Type" line and "MODE2" in "Track Mode" line;
6) Select "Finalize/Close Session", "Write Postgap" and if supported "Underrun Protection";
7) Burn CD at 4x speed;
8) Enjoy!!

where did you get the ripkit?
Are you using the correct patch?

eakinsme 04-02-2003 17:19

i got the rip-kit from ps2 modz..... what patch are you talking about?

kooldraco 04-02-2003 17:24

You have to patch all rips in order for them to work since they are originally on a DVD and you are putting them on a cd.

This isnt true.....

MOST ripkits (if not all) have everything incorporated in the rip kit.... Once you copy all the contents of the original to the hard drive and then use the rip kit, it creates an iso of the game... There is "usually" no other patch required, since most rip kits remove the dvd checks...

so if i dont need a patch what should i do?

BG 04-02-2003 17:39

Did you copy ALL contents of the disc to the hard drive, or did you download the game?

eakinsme 04-02-2003 17:44

yes i did copy all the files from my orginal to my hard drive!

IF you did everything correctly during the ripping process...... You may very well be suffering from the Magic 3's inability to boot certain dvd rips.....

Try burning it at a slower speed using high quality media and see if that will solve the problem.....

If NOT...... You may need to consider either upgrading to a Messiah 2 or purchasing a dvd burner.....
