just stay away from Creative craps... and i think Toshiba units are good ;)

You will be hard pressed to find a better drive than Lite-On......

They simply kick A$$........

I use mine alot for copying on the fly and ripping movies to the hard drive.... And this thing SIMPLY FLIES........

Lite On rocks! i haven't ran into no problems with it. it came with my pc a year ago. so i recommend it. i don't know about TDK, if they make drives. i know there cds are cool.
