pioneer a-05 with riteks at 2X??
 

I have a pioneer a-05 and I have a spindle of RITEK dvds and it only burns at 1x....
anyone know if there will be any official or hacked firmware released to allow for 2x burning using these discs?

Im guessing the disks can only burn at 1x speed so i don't think they will be able to burn at 2x.

If you have firmware 1.01 then they should burn at 2x, but if you upgraded to 1.21 then they will only burn at 1x (that happend to me too). It seems that Pioneer is screwing their own customers by "black-listing" certain kinds of media. Expect a hack with in a month, there are people already working on a hack.
