The thing Nba Street
 

I got a backups of The thing And Nba Street when you put in THE THING and close the tray you see a black screen for 20secs before anything happens and while it plays to sounds like the laser is working hard like when you play a backup of vice City.

Same kind of thing with NBa Street.

Certainly don't sound as quiet as most DVD-r's.

I've got backup of the thing on dvdr which works flawlessly.

sounds to me like you have a media problem. Try reburning them on better media . ie traxdata/ritek or verbatim.

This in most cases should sort out your prob. Other than that either you're laser could do with a clean or it's on it's way to ps2 heaven.

what media are you using?
what version PS2 have you got?

Hmmmm......

Not exactly sure where you are from, BUT if your in the US and have the NTSC versions of these two games, they are both CD games......

On MOST PS2's....... CD games are louder (when loading & playing) than dvd-r games......

You can make them run quieter by using HIGH END media burned at a slower speed....(and even this will not be 100%)

They are both CD games not DVD. I've got a new v7 used verbatim datalife plus. was burned at 12x using a plextor.I guess it's 1x then for me!!
