how long does it take..
hi
just thinking of buying the dru 500, could someone tell me how long it takes to burn the average ps2 game and movie........i only have an athlon 500 would this be ok or do i need a mighty upgrade... thanks |
Depends on what media you use and how you plan on burning your dvd movie.

just a rough guide mate.....say using verbatim dvdr-.....all help appreciated,is it a long painful drawn out process or is it like burning mpeg to vcd.......
cheers jans |
Depends on the speed of the media you use. Burning a ps2 games is nothing, 45 mins or less. Copying a dvd movie can take some time. There is either the option of going through a long process of ripping the movie, stripping out the extras you don't want, as well as audio streams and subtitles, and even possibly of encoding the video to a lower quality so it can fit on one disc.(this step alone can take many hours) It's not the burning that takes a long time here, it's the steps you have to go through to be able to burn. I personlly think this is a load of bs to have to go through. Or you can use dvdxcopy. You keep original dvd quality this way but it usually requires splitting to two discs. I personally would rather use another $1 disc than losing video quality and hours of my time. And yes this program is as easy as it claims to be. Using dvdxcopy takes me about 3 hours to burn an entire movie, but that is burning at 1x. Hope this helps.

hi
thanks........i thought a movie would take less time.......could you tell me how long it takes to copy a dvd9 or dvd5 movie disc from malaysia...... |
If using dvdxcopy a dvd9 will take about an hour to an hour and a half. Double that for a dvd9.
|
thanks m8 that'll do for me.......o do they take 1 or 2 discs, sorry for appearing a bit dim
|
For a dvd5 you will only need one. If you take out all the extras on a dvd9 you might be able to get it on one disc but usualy not.
