help playing dvds on ps2 with messiah2
 

I have a ps2 professionally modded with a messiah2. I put the dvd in the tray, close the tray, and flip the switch so that the ps2 is off. I then turn the switch on so that the ps2 is in standby mode. I hold down reset until the blue eject light comes on. The screen says: please insert a ps2 format disk. I throw the controller at the wall. I’d appreciate any help.

Don't hold the button. That disables the Messsiah 2. Just tap it.

the dvd's in the tray i flip the switch so that it's in standby mode

i press reset it takes me to the screen where you can browse the memory card or select the disk to the right of it, i select the disk, the screen goes black then takes me back to the same screen, then i ask myself: hey jimbo, how do you feel about this?
i respond: a n g r y, i need to watch officespace b4 work tomorrow

Is this a movie you are trying to watch? If so you do need to hold reset for several seconds. Try holding reset for a second or two longer.

If it's a game DVD-R game, I had the same problem.

Poor media was the answer. I switched to Ritek DVD-R, boots fine now.
