Mechwarrior4 : Mercenaries (I NEED A FILE TO PLAY LAST LEVEL [MY CD SCRATCHED])

I need Help, Please Help!!!

I have Mechwarrior 4 : Mercenaries and enjoy playing it but recently after reinstalling the game I have found that my cd is scratched and it will not copy the last level file from the cd, it is a real drag. I yet have to play this level and it is really bugging me. So I ask, will you help my by sending the file to my e-mail address. The file is;

THARK03.MW4

I'm not at home now so I am taking a guess at this, I think the cd was the second one and the file is located in a folder called RESOURCES, i'm not sure exactly but that is definitely the file I need.

My E-mail address is ;

[email protected]

It would be a real help if you would send this file to me, preferbley ZIPPED.

Thanks for any help!

For the reason why we can't check if you have the original cd, nobody here will send you the file.
Try to get a new cd from game support...

I don't want to be rude or anything but I have tried that and they won't give me one. I don't know anyone with the game so my last hope was somone on the internet. I understand that you don't know if I have bought the game, I really don't have anyway to prove it. I was just hoping, thanks anyway!

G'day omega2003,

I would hate to think what size the "THARK03.MW4" file is & would suggest if it represents a whole level that you havent yet played - that its gotta be a reasonable size & one that certainly your email box wouldnt take........ even zipped.....

Regardless....thats not so important....what is important is that this is not really the forum to be asking for game files as GCW is here to help you with Backing up your original copy of the game....

However as you've taken the time to write an essay all I would suggest is that you give ( & presuming you've scratched the underside of the disc & not the surface) a Data recovery program a go like : Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier or CD CHECK 2 of the many available that i use.. Try them you just never know..........;)

.... or use clonecd to try to make an image and edit the "game cd" profile to use the lowest speed possible(1x), this sometimes helps reading something which cannot be read at high speed.

Thanks for the help!!!

I thank you all for your time for writing. Indeed I know that it isn't

the forum I should write on but I was thinking more along the lines of

usage. I'd say there would be more usage on sites like this than on

normal, review type sites.

I will try all the ideas you have given but i believe it might not

work, though, its worth a try.

As for size, going on the other maps zipped, compressed, they are under

1 MB. So maybe if anyone can send it would be a great help, but, do not

go out of your way and if this is not allowed then I will have to find

some alternative. If the progs work, I will let ya know. Thanks anyway!

I've personally recovered the files of at least three games whose originals where damaged. Just use CloneCD and specify a lower speed and it should work.

I to have been able to recover files (that were knacked when doing a normal install) through the method that RINCE sugested. I think thats your best port of call first and if you still have trouble then contact game support. Remember to read at x1 speed
