Which dvd writer should I buy?
 

I am thinking about buying a dvd writer but I'm not sure which one to get. It appears that the the pioneer A04 and the sony DRU500 are the most popular. Which one do you guys think I should get and why? BTW, why is it that so many vendors are out of stock on the sony? Thanks for the input.

The Pioneer A05 is as good as you can get, sure the Sony writes both -/+ but, -media is cheapest & as yet I havn't found a need for the +media!

Agreed. Who in the hell needs the option to burn to +r anyways. All Pioneer models rock.

go for the AO4 it is like $100 canadian dollars cheaper than the AO5 , and the only diff is the 4x's speed apossed to the 2x's AO4 speed! Plus 4x's dvdr's are still very expensive!

Not quite true m8 - another vital difference is the A05 is clonecd compatible!

True, but I personally would rather use my cd burner when possible instead of shortening the life span of my dvd burner.
