While we are on the subject.
Do modchips beat the Pal 50Hz thing on NTSC TVs. So If I get a Pal PS2 game and make a backup and try playing it on a NTSC TV it will run at 50Hz or 60Hz? I will be getting a Magic 3.5 probably monday and I would like to know if Pal games will play fine or if they will need PAL-2-NTSC patches. |
it doesnt 'defeat' anything.
i dunno bout magics exactly, but all my messiah 2 does is basically pre-patch the game, and centers the screen.... oh and btw, a magic 3.5 is a bad mod. its based on beta magic 3.0 code... and the magic 3.0 code is crap, not to mention the beta. try a magic 3.1 & clip kit if you want to save some money, but the Messiah 2 is the best mod as of yet. |
Yeah I heard from many that it is the Magic 3 with the clip. But why do you say is beta?
And what is the problem with the Magic 3 right now? Anyways I guess I could probably return it once I get it but I most likely will not get all my money back. Most likely some restocking fee will be charged. Oh yeah you said your modchip patches a pal game? so it patches it so it is playable on a NTSC TV? No need to get a PAL-2-NTSC patch for Pal games? |

The Messiah 2 (with the force NTSC fix) will display a PAL game in color BUT the game will still roll.... You will need a PAL-NTSC patch to play PAL games on a NTSC TV correctly..... AND yes... You are correct... The Magic 3.5 is nothing more than a Magic 3 w/clip kit.... I would return it and get a Messiah 2... You will be much happier in the end.... |
Ok actually I noticed I ordered the Magic 3.6
That one seems to be the Magic 3.1 with a clip. Many report that the problems with the Magic 3 are now fixed on the Magic 3.1 or 3.6. Now are there problems with the Magic 3.1. I heard most errors people are getting are caused by installation problems. returning the modchip will cost me 15% restocking fee and might have to add mmm $15 more or so for the Messia 2 Pro. |
