PS2 Backup
I am trying to backup a PS2 CD disk called SSX, When the read gets to 36% it just hangs there, I have tried other PS2 CD Disks and they read fine, It has a few scratches in the disk at about what I calculate to be about 36% from the inside, would this be the problem???
could be. Wot program are you using to copy it.
Try giving the disc a good clean. Use cloneCD with read errors off, if that not work try blind write suite as this seems to be pretty good with scratched cds. |
Thanks Otto, I am using CloneCD 4
You only had problem copying this game?
Are you doing on the fly or making an image first? |
Otto, I never copy on the fly, I always read to the HD, then write to disk, I read at x8 and write at x 4
Oh yes Otto, sorry, I have backed up several games tonight, no probs
only answer is to try blind read/write then.
good luck let us know how u get on |
Otto, thanks for your help, It was the suspect scatch which I polished out With Fellows Scratch Remover and repolished, after that it read fine! :D
also try CDRWIN. that is one of the best CD ripping programs for ps2 there is.
CDRWIN okay for most games, has trouble with some cos it doesn't read and write the whole of the sub-channel, That why clonecd is better.
This is especially apparent with psx games. Final doom and Gran turismo 2 r two off the top of my head that cdrwin won't do. Regards.................... |
cdrwin can read sub-channel data.
when you are ripping the game, tick the CD-G option or something like that. clonecd doesnt support many burners and it isnt the most stable of programs out there....... |
I use CloneCD and ClonyXXL and I've never had a problem with the stability or the quality of EITHER program. They are superb. I just guess that for some it works and for others it doesn't work very well. V. Strange...
well you have a good burner, mine is an old POS :) that will add to the situation.......
Well yes, that ain't going to help the matter, lol! :D
but cdrwin still is a very well made burning program. what do you think 90% of the rel groups use? :D
