BF1942 Won't Run after CloneCD
 

Hi All:

I just copied Battlefield 1942 using CloneCd, although when I try to run the game from disc 2, it just stays on the desktop. Any hints on how to get this to work?

again. not sure about it i'm not such an expert. plz post which burner you got. if its a two sheep burner you've done something wrong, if not there can be hardly anything done!

I understand Battlefield 1942 to be safedisc 2 protected (a clever protection to check if the user has the original CD)

In your case it sounds as though the backup copy you made is not a 1:1 copy. i.e. as you said it stays at the desktop & wont kick over into the game...... simply because the protection has not been able to pick it up as a 1:1 copy......

we could spend hours trying to help / advise you how to do it & then it depends on the Hardware your using as well, or simply (cause all you wanna do is play the damn game) GO OVER HERE & download cdkillers (a regular helper of fixes to this site - thank him) Battlefield 1942-No CD + Mod fix.

Download all 4 parts & run part 1 first (you gotta have winrar installed) - the rest should be easy. Once youve installed the crack / fix you wont need CD2 to play the game.

When you tried it with the Original Disc Psully did it work ??

Next time also try the SEARCH button at the top of this forum - there are numerous threads that have already discussed this issue..........;)

I did the patch and it works....only thing is that I get an error when trying to connect to a server. The error says "Data is different" Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

A fellow member Noobie IN THIS THREAD HERE ....( 9th post ) - provided a detailed description / solution to possibly the error you are getting....

Have a read & see if it helps you..... if not........

I would suggest you go back to the original bf1942.exe & mod.dll file you replaced with the 1.2 crack & then try & hop online with your original disc in the drive & see if you can connect......


GCW has 1.2 cracks / fixes with the .org files that Noobie mentioned, you could try that also.........;)

If you meant a LAN Server, then the host, of the game is possibly running a different / wrong version.... you all need to be running & patched up to the same version....the latest of course being 1.2.......:)

With your crack , the game server will check and know you dont hav the original installation from original cd.

Next time use nero in ISO Cd Rom mode to make copy. Check box joliet and format mode 1. Depend of the brand burner you hav you can or cannot read the signature of the cd protection on the original cd during the copying. If you havent, you ll need crack or an emulator like Daemon for playing game like u know. But some server will refuse your conection if you run with crack.

I tryed clone cd and blindwrite but nero did what i need with an yamaha burner (20x-10x-40x). But after copying my original i need to put the copy in my cd burner to start the game. Only this cd driver can read the coping signature (cd protection like safe disk 2) and launch the game. I dont know why but it s the same thing if you hav a Plextor burner.

I dont know the others brands that can do the same work. Some others brands hav some parts of Plextor in their burner but any parts of Yamaha.

It is a big mistake to learn how to make a perfect copy of your original. U need patient and time to find and understand this word of the cd protections but here in GameCopyWorld you got it.

The latest perfect copy i made was Heroes 4 and his expansion , Warcraft lll, Medéval total War and Age of Mithology. Every games start well but in my burner. Now i dont need Daemon but i use it just for playing games without CD.
