firewire or usb 2 with ao5
 

any advantage using one over the other? firewire use more cpu resources than usb 2??

Firewire has a much faster transfer rate than usb. Firewire can do transfers of over 100mb a second while usb can only do a max of 12mb a second.

isnt firewire 400 meg per sec and usb 2 420 to 460 ??

firewire im not sure if it is 400 MegaBytes a sec or 400 megabits a sec (50 megabytes is equal to 400 megabits)


usb 2.0 IS 480 Megabits a sec which is 60 MB a second


and dvd burning doesnt even come close to maxing either one of those out, fastest i have seen is like 10 megabytes a sec......


all about personal preference...unless you have usb 1.0 or 1.1, then use firewire

its 400megaBITS per sec which works out in real life transfers about 40-50mb per sec. usb2 is slightly faster
usb1 isnt worth bothering with really, not for external storage.
